The function of a capacitive sensor is based on changes to the electrical field in the surroundings of its active zone. If the capacitor plate which is arranged behind the button is supplied with current, an electrostatic field is generated. This reacts to capacitance changes which are caused by an introduced object. Any type of object can thereby be contactlessly detected and measurement variables that are interesting from a production-related point of view, such as fill levels, can be transmitted to the control. The cylindrical sensors of the LCS-2 basic series offer reliable detection in all standard applications for position detection and fill level detection, e.g., in packaging systems or laboratory automation. Thanks to the various sizes and connection types, the capacitive sensors of the LCS-2 series can be used in various installation situations and are, thus, ideal for a wide range of applications.
